The 9:00PM Routine
Most of us have forgotten to lock our car, or accidentally left the garage door open overnight or even discovered in the morning that the front door was unlocked overnight at least once. Theft is a preventable crime of opportunity that can happen in an instant. Taking the following simple steps can prevent you from becoming a victim. Law enforcement agencies across the nation are asking people to develop this habit for protecting property from theft, and protecting your home from intruders.
1. Check vehicles to insure you've removed all valuables, that the doors are locked, and your garage doors are secured.
2. Walk around inside your home and lock and secure all doors and windows.
3. Turn on outside lights.
4. Report any suspicious activity.
